Sujatha Hampton has a doctorate in Special Education from The University of Texas at Austin and was a school teacher, a college professor, and the Title I Coordinator for the Albemarle County, VA public school system. She left her 15 year career in education to write As It Was Written which is her first novel. Before all that, she was a construction worker on the pipe laying crew on Afton Mountain, the Cool Ranch Dorito girl in the Charlottesville Superfresh, the clerk at the Ivy Landfill and an aerobics instructor way back when it was really cool to be an aerobics instructor. More recently, she helps students write the essays that open the doors to their dreams, and this is work she’s really proud of. She lives in Great Falls, VA with her family.
Now I’m switching over into the first person, though you should know that all that bit above I wrote too. This website is a place for me to collect all the things I am thinking about and writing about. I am writing this on the eve of my 49th birthday. Tomorrow begins my 50th trip around the sun and I want to meticulously record my journey of one year with the goal of arriving on October 13, 2018 much stronger, smarter, better, wiser, healthier, and braver than I was on October 13, 2017.
I am planning on doing hard things this year, or at least things that are hard for me. The first challenge was to build a website on WordPress. If you can see, this, then my first challenge has been successfully met.
